There are many places of historic interest and scenic beauty in the area of Gion Shimogawara where Yayoi is located and the shop is on the Shimogawara street, two-minute walk toward south from Nanro-mon of Yasaka Shrine that is famous for Gion Festival, one of the three major festivals in Japan.
In the attractive townscape with lush green, Kiyomizu Temple, Kodai-ji Temple and Chion-in are nearby and you can enjoy four seasons of Kyoto such as Sakura in spring and colored leaved in autumn. The main shop has the style of a tea-ceremony house, the traditional architecture in Kyoto, and hospitality.
The architecture using Japanese cedar, chestnut tree, pine tree and zelkova tree by the master, Sotoji Nakamura, adds meaningful atmosphere year by year and it is a space of pure relaxation in harmony with greens throughout the gardens. A five-minute walk from the Gion bus stop of Kyoto City Bus 206 from Kyoto Station.
Kyo Tsukudani Shop Yayoi is located about a two-minute walk from the Minami-romon Tower Gate at the Yasaka Shrine in Gion, Kyoto. (Tsukudani is either preserved fish or a vegetable boiled in sweetened soy sauce)
